Imagine a ten-year-old girl who brightens any room she walks into with her smile. She loves animals, reading, art and excels in school. She has dreams of going to college, becoming a veterinarian, traveling the world and having a family just like her own.

Her parents are middle class, active in her school, supportive, and loving. But slowly her grades begin to drop, she becomes withdrawn at school and sits quietly in her room each night. She no longer talks about her dreams. She has a secret she is afraid to share. She is lost and alone. She feels guilt and shame. She is a victim of sexual abuse.
